Julia Heliconian (Dryas iulia)

This bright orange long-winged butterfly is common in extreme southern Florida and Texas and sometimes strays further north. It is also found in the West Indies and Central and South America. The host plants are passionflowers (Passiflora spp.)

Females have dark bands on the wings.
