Same individual.

This individual was a territorial male who spent most of his time chasing off other butterflies and returning to the same spot. Sandhills Game Lands, Scotland Co., NC, 10/3/2001.

This fresh male, whose territory was adjacent to the first male, had no trace of a lighter 7 pattern on the underside and looked similar to a Delaware Skipper until he opened up his wings to reveal the distinctive Meske's pattern. Scotland Co., NC, 10/3/2001.
