Tropical Checkered-Skipper (Pyrgus oileus)

Tropical Checkered-Skipper is common in Florida, south Texas, and south to South America, with strays reported as far north as North Carolina and Missouri (one record each). Similar to Common Checkered-Skipper but with an extra dot in the corner of the forewing.
