Hummingbird Clearwing (Hemaris thysbe)

Hemaris thysbe (Hummingbird Clearwing)

Hummingbird Clearwing looks a bit like a cross between a hummingbird and a bumblebee. This moth is commonly seen hovering and sipping nectar in flower gardens. They are quite difficult to photograph as they quickly flit from flower to flower. Hummingbird Clearwing can be told from the similar Snowberry Clearwing by its whitish legs.
