This rare twining vine is found in North Carolina only at high elevations in the Mountains, usually in wet spots such as bogs and seepages.

Twining Honeysuckle is another common name for Lonicera dioica. Yet another common name is Red Honeysuckle, which is very appropriate considering the flowers, berries, and stems are red.
